Elizabeth slept in stasis in a water tank at the Isafaro research center in Sector Twelve. Her eyes were closed while her pulse was normal. Suddenly something strong passed through the area causing the guards and scientists to panic. It was enough to wake Liz from her slumber and she looked at the people on the other side of the water tank. They were even more afraid at the fact she was awake and was doing everything in their power to put her back to sleep.
Liz pressed the palm of her hand against the glass and using her telekinesis, she shattered the glass and ripped the cords from her body to be free. The guards went to fire on her, but Liz stopped the bullets with a telekinesis shield and then sent the bullets flying back towards the men inside the room with her. With them injured, Liz grabbed one of the scientists and stared him dead in the face with silver eyes.
"Where's my sister?"
"Down the hall to the left! Please don't kill me!"
Elizabeth stripped the man down and put on his clothes so she wouldn't be naked anymore. Leaving the room and following the man's instructions to find...

Zira was asleep in her water tank as researchers and guards monitored her status. When they saw Liz enter the room the researchers quickly hid behind the guards who raised their rifles towards Liz and open fire. The noise was enough to wake up Zira who immediately stopped the bullets with her mind and caused them to drop to the floor. She broke through the glass and her arms ignited in flames and torrent of fire cut through the air and engulfed the men killing them. Zira gasped for air and then fell to her hands and knees as she looked up to her older sister.
"Liz! Help!"
She could barely speak. She was cold and wet and the room was spinning.

Liz saw the bullets stop inches away from her face, but it wasn't by her own power. That was when she knew it had to be coming from Zira. She was able to do that from the confines of the water tank. Making Liz wonder if Zira was stronger than she was. Liz watched as the men in the room were caught on fire and then looked over to her sister. Liz ran over to her and took her hand.
"It's all right! I'm going to get you out of here."
Liz took off the lab coat she had on and put it around Zira so she had at least one warm piece of clothing shielding her naked body.
"We have to get out of here. Come with me."
Elizabeth kept an arm around Zira and aided her out of the room and into the hallway with flickering lights and blood on the floor. Whatever was going on in the lab it wasn't good.

"Liz, what's going on?"
It was hard to breathe. She did her best to breathe normally, but it just wasn't happening. Everything was dialed up to eleven, and the lab looked like it was going through a whirlwind. It didn't help that she was practically naked to boot. Zira looked around as Liz carried her out of there. Like a big sister should.
"How did you get out?"

"I don't know what's going on, or how I got out, but who cares? It's our chance to finally get out of this hell hole!"
Liz continued to carry Zira down the hallway headed for the exit of the research center. But as she did so a current of blood came rushing through the main doors to overtake them. Liz lost her grip on Zira and had to swim back to grab her. Undead zombies came swimming towards them and Liz pushed them away with her telekinesis as she also used her powers to open the door and get them out of the building. Up to the surface of the blood where they could breathe.
"Zira, are you okay?"
Whatever was happening here it wasn't human.

Zira saw the current of blood coming for them and yelled out, "LIZ, LOOK OUT!"
They were temporarily separated and then rejoined before leaving the building and up to the surface of the blood. The blood acted like water, but how was this possible? Suddenly, she heard various voices in her mind and it pounded against her head. She held onto her head with her hands and screamed.
"MAKE IT STOP!"
It was more than she could bear.

"Zira, what's happening? Zira!?"
This couldn't be a good sign. First thing first, they had to get out of the stream of blood that now flooded an entire sector. Remembering what she knew about telekinesis she knew she could use her mind to carry them up similar to flight. Liz focused her powers and floated upwards with Zira in her arms and landed on one of the rooftops above the blood level. She laid Zira down and looked her over.
"Zira, focus on me. Push out all other noise and focus on the sound of my voice."
Liz hoped this would work. She had to get Zira in a stable enough condition for the two of them to get out of here.

"MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP!"
Zira barely registered anything Liz said, and she barely registered the fact they were now flying through the air and landed on one of the nearby rooftops. Her head was pounding and felt like it was going to explode. That would be her luck too, to die right when she was finally free of the Vulture Research Center. She looked up at Liz and began to focus on her voice. The voices didn't subside entirely, but they quickly became a whisper to Liz's voice.
"Liz, I don't know what's going on. Everything feels like it's on fire."
And considering she was able to ignite flames from her hands that could become a literal thing very soon.

"That's because you were on fire. Remember what they did to us? They gave us powers. They made us different. We need to learn how to control these gifts before they consume us."
Elizabeth remembered the researchers said she now had telepathy and telekinesis. Zira had the same powers with empathy and pyrokinetics to boot. She didn't understand why Zira ended up with more than she did, but genetic experimentation was unpredictable at times.
"Try to breathe the best you can. You have control. Remember that."
Liz stood up and walked over to the ledge of the rooftop looking down at the blood that now consumed the whole sector. Vulture choppers were burning outside the research center and bodies were sinking down in the blood with zombies swimming across the currents. Liz knew whatever did this must have been an Isafaro experiment, but what abominatoin could they have made that had this kind of power?
"We definitely can't swim. We'll have to jump the rooftops, or fly. Are you up for it?"

Gifts? More like curses. Though Zira felt a sudden sense of calmness. She knew it was coming from her older sister and not her, but it was a much needed boost in the crisis they were now facing. Zira finally stood up from where she laid and closed the lab coat so her breasts wouldn't peek out from behind the lab coat. She still had a woman's modesty after all.
"I'm up for it."
Zira didn't like not feeling her own emotions, but what could she do about it? Complain? What good would that do? She decided to go with it for now. Liz always was worthy of idolization at times, and these were one of those times.
"I'll follow your lead."

Elizabeth returned to the ledge of the rooftop and looked down once again at the zombies swimming across the blood current on the ground. She then looked back to her younger sister and extended her right hand.
"Take my hand."
Liz waited for Zira to take her hand before lifting off of the rooftop and through the air. Staying high above the enemies in the deep red sea and flying through the air pass the sector's limits and to Sector Eleven. She landed on another rooftop in the city and let go of her sister's hand. Sector Eleven looked more peaceful except for the Vulture choppers and Vulture soldiers on the streets watching everything that was happening in the sector. So far it didn't seem that any of them noticed the two however. As they must have been distracted by the destruction done on their neighboring sector.
"How are you holding up?"

Zira took Liz's hand and flew across the air with her older sister. It felt strange defying the laws of physics like this, but that's what happened when you had super powers. They found another rooftop in Sector Eleven and Zira released her grip on Elizabeth's hand as she looked over the city streets of the sector.
"I'll feel better once I have pants."
It was cold on her lower body. She needed more clothes, and it was probably a good idea to find clothes that weren't like the researchers. As regular citizens looked upon them with disdain. Especially those from the Resistance.
"And maybe we should ditch the scientist look."

"Right. We should find better clothes. Good idea."
Liz led her younger sister through the door on the roof and then down a flight of stairs. It was an apartment building, but they couldn't very well ask perfect strangers to give them clothes their size, so they had to think outside the box. Liz led Zira to the laundry room and luckily there were plenty of clothes stored there for them to search.
"I know it's stealing, but we don't have a choice. Find something you like and slip it on."
Liz looked around until she saw some perfectly fine black clothes with a gray jacket and slipped them on. Going back to the entrance of the room to keep watch while Zira changed into something else.

Zira looked at the laundry room through a raised eyebrow.
"Not exactly my idea of shopping, but it will do."
Zira didn't want anything that showed her arms or hands because of the third degree burns on them, so she grabbed a long sleeve black shirt with matching black gloves, black jeans, and a black leather jacket with red flames on the sleeves and back of it. Just her kind of gear as she dressed up and walked back over to her sister.
"I think this will suit me just fine. Hopefully the owner won't be missing it."
Because Zira had no intention on giving it back.

"You look nice."
Liz smiled at Zira. The first smile she was able to muster in a long while. All of a sudden a male came into the room and looked at the two.
"What the fuck are you two doing?"
"Let's get out of here."
Liz pushed the man away with a telekinesis shove and led Zira out of the room and then out of the building where they would disappear into the sea of people going back and forth from one place to the next as Vulture troops watched their every move.
"We need to find a place to rest. Any ideas?"
