The vampire hasn't been in this place for centuries. The last she has seen of Aircano it was being burnt down to the ground by her sister after she had killed their parents for abusing her. Mari had just became a vampire, a creature of the night. A product of Count Dracula himself. She was finally set free by the man's blood lust once she fled from a hateful and violent father. A father who deserved to die. Even if the residents of Aircano saw him as a saint, Maricul knew the truth. He was a monster, and he made monsters of his daughters that have been long since forgotten.
As soon as Maricul stepped foot in the holy city she was greeted by paladins who knew what she was. They raised their blades against her and told her to leave. Maricul only cooed as she stared the men down. She could have killed them easily, but it wasn't in her nature to kill without reason. Everything she did had a reason, even something as simple as returning to the place she once called home.
"Must this end in violence?" Maricul pouted. "This was my home too, once upon a time. I only wish to see it again."
They of course would not relent. It wasn't in their nature to allow foul creatures inside Aircano. Mari was sure the conflict would've gathered the attention of the citizens of Aircano and their new leader who she heard was a woman as well. The first woman High Priest.
Things would get interesting soon enough.

A crowd had gathered outside the temple among the otherworlders who were staying in the village. They were curious about their way of life and their religion. And Miracle was all too happy to share her faith with those willing to listen. She sat at the center of the road with the crowd surrounding her and spoke:
"The foundation of Christianity is this: for scripture says all has fallen short of the glory of the Lord, but because the Son, Jesus Christ, took our sins upon himself on the cross, we may be redeemed through the blood of Christ."
The otherworlders were listening intensely at Miracle's words. Ever since she was little she had a gift of making others listen to her words. She knew it was only because the Lord spoke through her.
"So repent. Give yourself to the Lord Jesus Christ and you may one day enter the Kingdom of Heaven. For there is no other way to salvation except through the blood of Christ."
As Miracle was speaking she noticed a disturbance at the gates and decided to investigate. Telling the crowd she had priestess matters to intend to. They were disappointed, but she assured them that she would be back soon. Miracle, with her body guard at her side, approached the paladins at the gate blocking a young woman from entering the village.
"What is the meaning of this?"
"Do not get close to her, Lady Miracle!" said one of the paladins. "For this woman is a vampire!"
Miracle tilted her head in curiosity as she has never met a vampire in person before.
"Who are you and why have you come here?"

"For this woman is a vampire!"
"You're an observant one."
Maricul's attention went to the child with violet hair and eyes. This couldn't be the new High Priestess? Surely not. They would never allow a child to lead them. At least not in her day. It was unheard enough for a woman to be a leader in Aircano. Let alone a child.
"My name is Maricul, and I hail from this village. I am the daughter of the High Priest Saul and I wish to see my home. Am I to assume you are to deny me entry?"
Maricul didn't care if she did or not. She had ways of getting what she wanted even now. If they wouldn't let her see it in peace, she would have to take it by force.

"High Priest Saul?" Miracle repeated. "You speak of the founder of Aircano Lord Saul? But it was never recorded that he had children."
This woman was a mystery, and all Miracle knew now was a name. Which sounded rather similar to her own. Saul was a legend in Aircano and his teachings were still being used today, but never was it mentioned that he had a daughter. This meant this Maricul had to be at least over five-hundred years old to have lived in the days of Lord Saul.
"If you come in peace I deny nothing, but the holy enchantments on this village will make it difficult for you to stay. Knowing that do you still wish to continue?"
Miracle could tell the paladins and her body guard didn't approved of this decision, but it was her decision to make. She was taught to love the sinner, but hate the sin.

"Is there another Lord Saul I don't know about?"
Of course it was never recorded that he had children. They were both considered disappointments to him. Both turning from God and becoming monsters. Maricul wouldn't bother to tell them that Empress Ranko was her sister. She saw no reason for them to know that.
"I'll manage."
Maricul wasn't concerned about the enchantments. She didn't plan to stay that long anyway. She looked back to the paladins.
"I believe the good priestess would like you to lower your weapons."
The paladins were hesitant, but they eventually lowered their weapons and allowed Maricul into the city.
"That wasn't so hard now was it?"
Maricul looked back to the child.
"Lady Miracle. You must be the leader of this city. A pleasure."

"Stand down."
The paladins stood down, but circled around Miracle's position to protect her from the vampire in case she tried anything. Miracle allowed them to stay by her side to ease their tension. She detected no malice from this vampire yet, so Miracle wouldn't be rude. Still she was cautious knowing that what she was told about vampires had to of have some truth to it.
"The elders are the true leaders of the city. I am just a representative. Of course we all do the Lord's work."
Miracle would stay by Maricul's side as Maricul explored her home.
"Has Aircano changed much since your last visit?"

Maricul walked down the road as Miracle and her soldiers followed. She didn't mind the escort. If it appeased them then it appeased them. Maricul looked around to the buildings and then the holy temple of God. Remembering the times she spent in that temple listening to her father preach. Though he never practiced what he did preach. The priesthood was just to fuel his own reputation. It wasn't motivated by any love for Lord Yahweh.
"It hasn't changed."
Maricul could remember the flames as the city burned to the ground at the hand of her older sister Ranko. As they battled vampire to devil. Ranko won the fight, but didn't have what it took to end Maricul's life. A mistake she may have regretted. Their relationship has been complicated ever since.
"It still stinks of hypocrisy."

The soldiers were offended by Maricul's words. Miracle gave them a simple glance telling them to stay their hands. There was no need to shed blood over hurtful words. For many people would have said worst about their lands. Jesus commanded them to love their enemies, and she would remind them of that with her body language.
"I sense much anger in you."
Miracle didn't assume to know what the vampire was thinking or feeling. But it was obvious there was some resentment of her home underneath the veil that was her face. Miracle wanted to help her come to terms with it. To provide her with closure if she could.
"What happened the last time you were here, if you don't mind my asking?"

"What difference does it make? The past is in the past."
Maricul wouldn't tell Miracle the whole story. It was none of her business. Maricul wasn't one that shared her past with just anybody. Let alone somebody who worked for the very god who damned her to hell for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. She was glad the soldiers took offense to her words. That was the motivation behind her action. To get under their skin.
"You shouldn't pry into personal matters that doesn't concern you."

"My apologies. I only wish to heal the wounds that is so visible on your skin, but I will mind my business from now on."
The paladins were amazed at Miracle's restraint. She held no resentment or anger towards the vampire. She was an example of love and compassion as their Christ before them. Many of her people thought she was the second coming of Christ, but she insisted she was neither the Christ nor an angel of heaven, but only a servant of the one true god. Lord Yahweh.
"Where do you now reside?"

Miracle was indeed different from others who knew what she was. Usually when people knew she was a vampire they treated her with mistrust and suspicion. But Miracle treated her with a certain respect she wasn't used to from someone who lived in Aircano all their lives.
"I'm a wanderer. Never staying in one place for too long. It's how I've survived for all these years."
Already Maricul felt fatigued by the holy enchantments in the village, and knew she would have to leave soon, but not before asking her questions.
"Why are you being so nice to me?"

At Maricul's question Miracle tilted her head in response to it.
"Is there a reason I shouldn't be?"
Miracle knew her ways weren't popular among many of the guards here who were used to the old way of life. Just like the Jewish leaders weren't used to the way Jesus handled things during his short life on Jenesis. Change was hard to accept, but change was inevitable in life.
"It's true the bible says nothing about vampires, but why ignite the fires of hate for no reason? I believe even a creature such as you can be saved if only you repent."
Miracle smiled for a moment before suddenly becoming more serious.
"Do you wish to be healed? Through the power of Lord Yahweh I can cure your vampire illness and make you human once again. From there all you need do is beg his forgiveness and you can call this place your home once again."
Miracle awaited to see what Maricul response would be to her offer.

Maricul was taken aback by the offer of healing. Before now she didn't even think such a thing was possible. She has been a vampire for so long that Maricul wouldn't know what to do if she was human again. To be weak and vulnerable like a mortal, she didn't like the idea. And when Miracle spoke of begging for forgiveness Maricul's eyes darkened and she stared darts into the child before spitting by the child's feet.
"I do not want his forgivenss!"
Maricul was disgusted at the mere thought. She saw no reason to love God. To want his forgiveness. He had done nothing to stop her father from abusing him. Despite all the times she prayed to him. All the times she called out to him. Nothing. So why start loving him now when it was clear to Mari he had no love for her?

Miracle took a step backwards when Maricul spat at the ground by her feet. The paladins among them were ready to pounce for that show of disrespect, but Miracle held them back with a wave of her hand. Miracle only frowned at Maricul. Saddened that her hatred for Lord Yahweh, her anger, denied her the chance to be healed and in the Lord's good gracious again.
"Then you are truly lost. You have seen your home, vampire. I suggest you take your leave before the enchantments get the better of you."
Miracle's softness was gone. She was firm and precise. Not taking kindly to the show of disrespect towards her and towards her god.

Maricul said nothing more. It was clear she had overstayed her welcome and the fatigue due to the holy enchantments were getting harder to resist. She couldn't risk to pick a fight here among the paladins and the High Priestess. Maricul had no idea what the High Priestess was capable of, but she knew what the paladins were capable of having lived here for eighteen years before fleeing and becoming what she was. She turned her back on the child and began to walk away.
"Farewell, Lady Miracle," she said with mock respect. Crossing the threshold of the gate and leaving the holy city behind.
